eventh place at the opening round of the AMA District
37/FMF Big 6 Grand Prix Series wasn't the kind of
result you'd expect from Zach Bell, the defending
series champion in its featured AMA Big 6 West Coast Grand
Prix (WCGP) Series within a series.
Sure, he'd switched bikes and teams in the brief offseason,
but you just knew he'd turn things around before long.
And the 3 Bros./STI Husqvarna rider did that emphatically,
leading from the second lap on at the Dirt Diggers Motorcycle
Club's Taft Grand Prix at Honolulu Hills Raceway for a
convincing win over runner-up Dalton Shirey with 2016 series
champ Eric Yorba just two seconds behind Shirey.
