2018 DUCATI PANIGALE V4S FULL TEST P74 ABS CORNERING BOSCH EVO The ABS has come in for an upgrade, as it now has a Cor- nering feature that allows for greater levels of control right up to the apex of the corner. There are three levels, with level three designed for low-grip situations on the street, and a high degree of electronic intervention. Level two houses the Slide-By-Brake feature, which allows a rider to slide the rear of the bike into the corner by hammering the rear brake and the electronics helping to pivot the chassis into the apex. Level one is for track riding only, and disengages the ABS action on the rear brake while still maintaining some electronic intervention on the front. DUCATI TRACTION CONTROL EVO (DTC EVO) Using information from the IMU, the DTC EVO has eight different levels, plus off. Level eight gives the most electronics intervention and one the least. The system works by detecting wheelspin and then closing the throttle bodies and reducing spark and ignition advance. The ELECT- RONICS FOR DAYS The Ducati Panigale V4S's electronics work based off information from the six-axis Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit that instantly detects the motorcycle's roll, yaw and pitch angles. The information that comes to the ECU and is then sent to the various systems means the bike is constantly moving, changing and adapting to what's happening underneath it, making this the most electronically advanced machine Ducati has ever produced. This is just a brief overview of each system:
