That allowed Robert and Bur- son's teammate Axel Pearson to slip past, though Argubright re- passed Pearson quickly. (Pear- son later crashed, injured his wrist and DNFed after running as high as third.) At the finish, Robert took the checkered flag in two hours, 14 minutes and 24 seconds, Argu- bright 30 seconds behind with cal 40-mile second loop crushed his hopes of adding another National overall to his resume— the last one being 2015—and he had to settle for fourth.
