CHAMPIONSHIP
VOL. 55 ISSUE 4 JANUARY 30, 2018 P47
I
n 2017, we all saw what can happen when Monster Energy Kawasaki's Eli Tomac
gets on a roll. If he didn't start out so far behind, and if he wasn't up against a
legend like Ryan Dungey, things very well could've ended differently, as Tomac
reeled off nine wins in the last 14 races of the year. Tomac was on his way to winning
round one, but crashed and hurt himself, which knocked him out of round two as
well. Since then, he's now won two in a row, including a wire-to-wire win in Arizona,
and that's the last thing anybody in front of him in the points standings wanted to see
happening regardless of how far behind he was after the opening couple of races.
