MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES, AN FIM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
ground on Tomac repeatedly, only to lose the ground
again with a mistake here or there. Behind him,
Honda's Ken Roczen was doing the same thing.
At the finish, Tomac took the win for the second
week in a row by just over two seconds in front
of Barcia, who had another second-and-a-half on
Roczen in third. Behind them came points leader
Jason Anderson (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) after
battling his way through a mess of racers for most of
the main event. Then came Red Bull KTM's Marvin
Musquin in fifth.
Anderson now heads to the Oakland Supercross
with a nine-point lead over Barcia, with Roczen just
a few points behind him. Musquin is ninth in points,
35 points behind Anderson, with Tomac one point
behind Musquin. And there is 13 rounds left to run.
today," said Anderson. "I was able to figure ev-
erything out. I got pretty set up and was good for
the night show. I qualified first in practice and was
able to get another heat race win. I started out
great in the main but got shuffled back to around
seventh but then worked my way back to fourth. I
just need to keep the ball rolling." Anderson saw
his points lead shrink to nine points because Jus-
tin Barcia, the closest rider to him going into the
race, finished two spots ahead of him.
ANOTHER LAST CHANCE
FOR REED
For the second week in a row, Chad Reed had to
advance to the main event through the LCQ, and
the 2004 and 2008 SX champ didn't win it like he
did at Anaheim II. Instead, he finished second to
Benny Bloss. Reed, who started the year recover-
ing from an ankle injury, started and finished the
main event in 19th place.
Briefly...
Points leader Jason Anderson (21) worked his
way up to fourth after a bad start. He got around
Marvin Musquin (25) to take the point.
