IN THE WIND P28 VILLOPOTO, HENRY TAKE ON WINTER X GAMES S now Bikes and Hill Climb brought the Moto X action to Aspen for the 2018 Winter X Games, bringing out talent like Ryan Villopoto, Doug Henry and Travis Whitlock. Yamaha turned one of its YZ450Fs into a snow bike weapon for Villopoto to race in Aspen. The four-time Supercross champion qualified fourth, but then crashed out of his heat race and did not make it to the main event. "I'm bummed I crashed in my heat," Villopoto said. "We had great speed all day, so disap- pointed to not have a shot at the podium in the final. We will be back next year with a bit more preparation and time to get that [gold]." The Snow BikeCross final was won by Cody Matechuk, with defending champ Brock Hoyer and Kody Kamm taking silver and bronze. Among other dirt bike personalities at the Winter X Games in Aspen were Josh Hill, Axell Hodges and Jimmy Jarrett. In the adaptive Snow Bike- Cross, Doug Henry put on a clinic, taking the win and the gold. Harley Davidson got behind the first-ever X Games Snow Hill Climb event, which sent V-twin Harley's racing side-by-side up the SuperPipe course. Travis Whitlock proved that his hill- climbing skills translate well to snow, taking the first X Games Harley-Davidson Snow Hill Climb gold medal. Snow Bike Best Trick was the third Moto X event of the Winter X Games, and Rob Adel- berg took the gold with a body varial. Silver and bronze went to Jackson Strong and Robert Haslam.CN
