To say Jones is a fan of this
style of racing is an understate-
ment—he absolutely loves it. He
rode his Mark Samuels/Monster
Energy Honda to a second-place
overall finish. More importantly, he
had fun.
"This is the most fun racing I've
ever done," said Jones. "I was a
bit jealous that the East Coast had
a sprint enduro series and we're
really fortunate for the WORCS
organization to step up and run
this on the West Coast. This is
probably the most fun I've had on

a race weekend and I'm really
happy they did this. I was fortu-
nate to win on Saturday, but Zach
Bell whipped my butt today. He
smoked me on the combined,
but it's not bad for running right
off the couch."
Jones said Reddish and the
WORCS organization did a great
job at the inaugural event for the
series. He sees a bright future for
the Sprint Hero Series and will
run every race this year.
"I think Sean did an amazing
job with what he had to work with
on the amount of land at Glen
Helen," said Jones, who will also
race WORCS, Big 6 and the
SCORE Baja 1000 this season.
"It was awesome and I can't wait
for the next one."
Travis Coy unveiled a brand
new GasGas 300cc two-stroke
for the event and he went all out
to test the new Spanish machine.
Coy had previously run a similar
race out east, and was thrilled to
finish third.
"I had done one of these on
the East Coast and I thought
the format was really cool," said
Coy. "I really enjoyed it and I'd
like to do the next two. I really
enjoyed the enduro test. It was
a little more technical and rocky
and that suits my style. The moto
test was a lot of fun. It was super
smooth and fast. I liked it all the
way around."
As well as knocking off some
off-season rust, Coy was pleased
with his first outing on the new
bike. He said it passed its first test.
