600 Champion. The guy holding the
umbrella is his main championship
rival, Michael Gilbert. Gilbert crashed
in morning warm up at the final race
of the year, his title chances going up
in flames. But rather than sulk in the
pits, Gilbert held the umbrella for the
new champion.
