on that motorcycle. Then you obviously
have the rider and the managers. It's
a massive group effort to go out there
and run a successful team.
And there is a lot of pressure on a
rider such as yourself to get the re-
sults for the team and the company,
isn't there?
Yeah, you know there is the pres-
sure there, but for me, I enjoy that
pressure. I love it when you're on the
start line and you're expected to win.
For me, it's a good thing and, yes, it
can wear on you, but, hey, that's what
separates the best guys.
Downshifting a bit and going
back to the beginning of the 2017
Monster Energy Supercross Series,
you started the season off with
a fifth at Anaheim, a sixth in San
Diego and an eighth back at Ana-
heim. It took you a little while to get
up to speed.
Yeah, it did. Those first three rounds
were actually really disappointing
because we had great preparation
leading up to Anaheim. We put plenty
of laps in, we were healthy and I could
get through those 20-minute motos
just fine on the practice track. Once
that race situation came around a lot
of things popped up that didn't pop up
at the [practice] track. And we learned
from that. We learned that you have to
