IN THE WIND P36 Online registration is now open for the Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross Championship. RCSX ONLINE REGISTRATION OPEN O nline registration is now open for the popular Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross Champi- onship (RCSX). For the ninth year, Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, will host the two- day amateur supercross. Amateur racing will kick off Sunday, March 11, after Saturday night's Daytona Super- cross, with the finals continuing on Monday, March 12. The RCSX will once again serve as the opening round of the American Motocross Majors, which is composed of five premier ama- teur motocross events in the United States, and will include OEM support and rider contingency. Click here to register for the RCSX. In addition, Ricky Carmichael's Spring National Prep Camp is set to take place the week before RCSX, March 5-9. The camp offers a unique opportunity for participants to learn from Ricky Carmichael at his personal track in Cairo, Georgia, featuring curriculum from Carmichael's Riding Program. CN AREA QUALIFIERS, REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP DATE FOR LORETTA LYNN'S ANNOUNCED T he AMA has announced the dates for the Area Qualifiers and Regional Championships for those wanting to qualify for the 2018 AMA Ama- teur National MX Championship at Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, July 30-Au- gust 4, 2018. Area Qualifiers are the first step in qualifying for Loretta Lynn's. The first of 58 Area Qualifiers be- gins in February and runs through the end of May across 35 states. Racers of all ages compete in various engine displacement classes, from 50cc to 450cc, in hopes of moving on to a Regional Championship. The AMA Regional Championships then serve as the next step to seed riders into the annual AMA Amateur National Motocross Champion- ship. Only riders who finish in a qualifying position at one of the 13 Regional Championship events are eligible to race the amateur national event at Loretta Lynn's. Click here for the complete schedule.
