IN THE WIND P28 SPRINT ENDURO RACING GOES WEST W elcome the Sprint Hero Enduro Racing Series. Off-Road Sports is introducing a new off-road series to the West Coast that is mirrored after the East Coast's Full Gas Sprint Enduro Series. Off-Road Sports has teamed up with Destry Ab- bott's DA8 Strong to produce this new three-race series, mod- eled after the popular and ever- growing Full Gas Sprint Enduro Series. The Sprint Hero Enduro Racing Series will be made up of three, two-day, rounds, but racers have the option of racing both or just one day. There is no timekeeping involved, so moto- cross bikes are welcomed, and membership is not required. Just show up and race. There will be classes for just about everyone, from youth to pros. Click here to get all the information. The first round is set for Janu- ary 6-7, 2018, at Glen Helen Raceway; round two is sched- uled for March 10-11, at Iron Mine Racepark in Cedar City, Utah, and the final round is set for April 14-15 at Canyon MX in Peoria, Arizona. CN PURVINES SCALES BACK OFF-ROAD RACING R on Purvines, the owner of the Purvines DA8 Racing Team, announced that he is scal- ing back his off-road racing effort for the 2018 season and has cut some of its prime riders from the team, including 2017 AMA Hare & Hound and WORCS Cham- pion Gary Sutherlin, and Enduro- Cross racers Destry and Cooper Abbott. The team was notified about the changes via a release sent out to the team sponsors, which reportedly stated that Axel Pearson will remain on the team along with another A-class rider and focus on H&H and Big 6 racing. "Often times in racing, un- expected things happen at unexpected times and can take you by surprise," Destry Abbott said. "Unfortunately, today I was stunned to hear via a press re- lease email that my son Cooper and I along with…Gary Sutherlin were no longer on the Purvines Racing team. I'd like to thank Ron for an amazing year and am proud of the significant accom- plishments the team has made this year. Unfortunately, the un- expected timing and abrupt na- ture of this development leaves Cooper and I suddenly looking for sponsors and a bike brand to continue our success and pro- gram for the 2018 season." Sutherlin said he was sur- prised by the news as well and is working on new plans for 2018, as well. CN Purvines Racing is cutting back its off-road racing effort in 2018, and '17 H&H and WORCS Champion Gary Sutherlin is one of the riders who has been let go from the Purvines team.
