Fourth went to Yamaha-mount-
ed Brandon Forrester, while fifth
was Beta's Nick Brawner.
NIGHT RACE
There was a two-hour work pe-
riod before the start of the night
race, allowing riders to install
their lighting equipment.
Ashburn grabbed another
holeshot when the start card
turned sideways, as he led 24
other riders into the woods. Ash-
burn was starting to gap the field
again, until he missed a turn at
the top of a section called "The
Wall" and had to ride back down
to get another run at the hill and
take the proper line.
"It was kind of hard to see at
night because the dust would
reflect off your headlight and I
just flat missed that turn," said
Ashburn. "But luckily, I had just

"Even though I got a worse
start, I moved into second pretty
quickly. Once I got into second,
I just settled in there and saved
my energy for the night race."
Higgins had a better ride in
the second moto, as well, finish-
ing third.
"I got a better start and with a
couple of laps under my belt, I
just felt better on the bike," said
Higgins.
