that Nick had snuck up on me,"
said Ashburn. "I guess I was just
riding in my own little world, but
I was able to put the hammer
down and get the win over him."
A lot of the credit goes to
Fahringer, who rode his tail off in
the first moto after getting out to
a poor start.
"Sitting in the line, I realized I
had never done a dead-engine
start on my bike," said Fahringer.
"It took a couple of cranks
before it fired, so I was pretty far
back off the start. I was maybe
10th heading into the woods, but
I rode like a madman to try to
gain as much as I could on the
front-runners."
Fahringer caught Lowrey in
second place at the end of the
first lap, and passed him at the
start of lap two.
"I knew I had some time to
make up on Ashburn so I started
really dancing on the bike," said
Fahringer. "I managed to catch
him, but he picked it up and
pulled away a little before the
finish."
At the finish it was Ashburn
leading Fahringer across the line
for the win, with Logan Lowrey in
third. Yamaha-mounted Brandon
Forrester and Lowrey's AirGroup
Racing/Enduro Engineering
Husqvarna teammate Drew Hig-
gins rounded out the top five.
Both Lowrey and Higgins

ning of November, moving to the
MOTO TWO
Ashburn left no doubts in moto
two, grabbing the holeshot and
pulling away from the pack for
win number two.
Fahringer, who was riding a
300cc four-stroke Sherco, had
a much better time of it in the
second moto, although he got a
worse start.
"I was getting very aggressive
passing riders," said Fahringer.
Logan Lowrey (8) gets off to a
fast start in the first race.
