MUSQUIN
CROWNED
KING OF PARIS
R
ed Bull KTM's Marvin Mus-
quin has been having a near-
perfect off-season leading up to
the 2018 Monster Energy AMA
Supercross Series. The likable
Frenchman took home a million
dollars by winning all three main
events at the Monster Energy
Cup, repeated as the winner at
the Red Bull Straight Rhythm a
week later, and has now taken
down his second Supercross de
Paris win.
At November 17-18 Supercross
de Paris, in the new U Arena,
which is larger than the venues
used in the past for this event, the
track was much closer to "official
size" than ever before, with lap
times in the ballpark of 45 sec-
onds on the first night. Musquin
managed to hold off Honda's Cole
Seely (on night one) and Rockstar
Energy Husqvarna's Dean Wilson (on
night two) to take the Superpole fast-
est qualifying lap by about two-tenths
of a second each night. But his off-
season "perfect record" was ended
in the first Sprint race (sort of like a
heat race) of the night on night one.
After he battled it out with Wilson, he
looked to have the victory in-hand,
but he went off the track on the last
lap, handing the win to Wilson.
Musquin won the second Sprint
race, though, over Seely and Wilson,
Marvin Musquin topped both
main events in France.
Cole Seely gave
Musquin a race
but came up a little
short. He finished
out the weekend
second overall.
