doesn't like it so this was a nice
change. It was nice to have all
the pressure off."

FINAL
1. Andrew Hines (H-D)
2. Eddie Krawiec (H-D)
of qualifying, he extended it to
156 points to officially clinch
the number-one plate. Krawiec
previously won titles in 2009,
2011-12.
"I'll tell you I attribute this to
teamwork and a lot of great guys
who make this bike go down the
track as fast as it does," said
Krawiec. "I couldn't do it without
my team. I've got [crew chief]
Matt Hines. It is awesome to get
this done in qualifying. I'm usu-
ally grumpy as hell on Saturday
on race weekends and my wife
a 6.856. Otherwise, the condi-
tions were really good and I think
I could have run about 6.79.
As for Eddie, I don't know what
was going on in the other lane.
Normally, we share all our tuning
data but I didn't even look at his
bike before the final."
While Hines celebrated his
race win, Krawiec also cel-
ebrated his fourth NHRA world
championship. Krawiec entered
the season-ending Pomona
race with a 150-point lead over
Tonglet and after four rounds
Hines has now won
at least one NHRA
race every season in
the last 12 years.
