he 2017 Maxxis FIM EnduroGP World
Championship came to a close with
the Acerbis GP of German in Zschopau,
October 21-22, and it was Beta's Steve
Holcombe coming away with the crown
in the premier class. Holcombe officially
clinched the championship after topping

the first day of racing on Saturday, then
followed that up by winning again on Sun-
day, completing his championship-winning
season with a double victory.
"Winning the title yesterday was amazing,
but finishing the championship with a double
class win is pretty special," said Holcombe.
"It's my first double-class win, and I wanted
to make sure I won the Mika Ahola Enduro
Test award. The conditions certainly made
things tougher today, but it was great—a real
enduro. To finally have a wet race was a nice
way to end the championship."
Spain's Josep Garcia gave KTM the
Enduro 2 Championship with a conservative
fifth-place finish on the final day of the eight-
