A
t the inception of the Monster Energy Cup
in 2011, it seemed almost as if winning the
Monster Million for sweeping all three main
events was going to be a semi-regular occur-
rence. At the time, Monster Energy Kawasaki's
Ryan Villopoto made it look easy, sweeping all
three main events and taking home a million dol-
lars for one night's work. However, in the years
since the inaugural Monster Energy Cup, not
only has no other racer managed to win the
Monster Million, but no racer has even managed
to win the overall at the event a second time.
Red Bull KTM's Marvin Musquin managed to
make history in at least one regard at the MEC,
winning the Monster Million for only the second
time in history.
