My Own Race:
67 JUSTIN HOEFT 11TH O/A CUP
51Fifty Energy Drink Yamaha's Justin Hoeft competed on a 450 for the first
time in the Cup Class. Hoeft had a strong showing going 11-11-12 on the
night. Hoeft was the rider who made contact with Justin Bogle in the first
race, but Hoeft did not go down. "Tonight was another step in the right
direction," Hoeft said. "I've never actually raced a 450 in supercross, so
to finish just outside a top 10 is really exciting for me. The whole 51FIFTY
Energy Drink Yamaha Team did an awesome job helping me with bike setup
and really made me feel comfortable all day."
48 CHRISTIAN CRAIG 17TH O/A CUP
HRC Honda rider Christian Craig's night ended prematurely after suffering
a crash in the second race that left him with a sore hand. "I'm so bummed
with how Vegas ended," Craig said. "The entire team worked their butts off
testing with me the past couple weeks. We had a lot of fun and got the bike
perfect. Practice went pretty good. The track was sketchy and guys were
crashing everywhere in the mains. In the second main, I got together with
another rider and punched the ground as I fell. The fall wasn't even that hard
but I hit it just right I guess. I'll be fine, just bummed I didn't get to finish out
the night for the team.
Musquin's new teammate Broc
Tickle going 4-3.
Wilson got the edge on
Tickle at the start of the final
main event, and that made all
the difference. Wilson went on
to take third overall with a very
solid 3-5-3 score over Tickle's
4-3-4. They tied on points, but
Wilson's final-moto score gave
him the nod, and rewarded him
with $20,000.
Last year, during the Monster
Energy Cup, Wilson was watch-
ing from home, but after starting
2017 as a privateer on Yamahas,
he has made a new home for
himself with Husqvarna, and his
results have begun to show the
risk has been worth it for the
"other" Austrian brand.
(Left) Broc Tickle made his Red Bull
KTM Team debut. He had a solid
night finishing fourth overall.
