CAMIER TO RED BULL HONDA
L
eon Camier will leave MV
Agusta at the conclusion of
the 2017 WorldSBK Champion-
ship for Red Bull Honda in 2018,
thus occupying the machine the
late Nicky Hayden used prior to
his passing in May.
Widely regarded in the
WorldSBK paddock for his
giant-killing performances on
the under-powered and ag-
ing MV Agusta F4 RC, Camier
will be looking to revitalize the
fortunes of factory Red Bull
Honda WorldSBK after a disas-
trous season with incumbent
Stefan Bradl and a host of
riders who filled in for Hayden,
including Jake Gagne, Davide
Giugliano and Takumi Taka-
hashi.
"We're extremely happy
to have Leon on board for
the upcoming WorldSBK
season," said Marco
Chini, Honda's WSBK
operations manager, to
motorsport.com. "He's
a great talent and an ex-
tremely professional rider, so I'm
sure it will be a pleasure to work
with him.
"We're confident that his
expertise will help us raise the
performance of the Honda
CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2 to a
whole new level, so we're looking
forward to the new challenge.
"Right now, however, there's
still a season to complete, so
we are fully concentrated on
the remaining rounds in order to
improve our package and finish
the year on a high note."
Bradl has yet to confirm if
he will remain in the team for
2018. CN

Leon Camier will be hoping
for more reliability out of the
Honda than he's had with
