IN THE WIND P50 LAFFERTY WINS AMA EAST HARE SCRAMBLES T he 10th round of the AMA East Hare Scrambles Champion- ship was held in Mt. Cobb, Penn- sylvania, September 30–October 1, and Ryder Lafferty came away with the overall win after a late battle with Tegan Temple. Lafferty and Temple went at it for much of the race until Lafferty pulled away at the finish, taking the checkered flag approximately two minutes ahead of Temple, with Hunter Bush taking third. Defending champ Kyle Mc- Donal saw his chances of retrain- ing the number-one plate wash away after suffering a broke clutch cover that caused him to make a lengthy pit stop to repair. As a result, McDonal finished the race 10th and without a chance of winning the 2017 title with one race remaining. Wally Palmer leads the cham- pionship with 172 points, fol- lowed by Lafferty with 161 and McDonal with 133. In the morning event, it was Schoolboy-class leader Mike Beeler Jr. who took the win to lock up his class championship, with second-place Mad Max Fernandez locking up second for the year. Sean Covert, from the C 250 line, rounded out the top three. In the Youth main, it was once again Beeler and Fernandez with New Englander Brandon Nollete taking third. With only one round remaining, Beeler has secured his number-one plate for 2017. CN MX OF NATIONS TO REDBUD T he FIM and Youthstream, the organizers of the MXGP Championship and Motocross of Nations, announced that the 2018 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations will be held at RedBud Track 'N' Trail in Buchanan, Michigan.
