pretty well. There are just too
many good motorcycles out here
to slack off."
As for Tonglet, the runner-up
finish was welcomed because it
kept him in the hunt for a pos-
sible second world title. Entering
eliminations as the seventh-
quickest qualifier, Tonglet rode
past Angie Smith, teammate
Jerry Savoie and Arana Jr. In
seven final rounds, Tonglet has
lost just twice this year.
"We really needed to win that
final in order to keep Eddie close
in the points," said Tonglet, who
is now 71-points out of the lead.
"The damage could have been
a lot worse but we still needed
that round. We've got four more
races to make it up and if we do
what we're capable of doing, we
can get the job done. We'll just
move on to the next one and go
from there."
