"It is good way to top off the year with a race like this, it gives me some more motivation through the off-season and to be ready for next year," Covington said. "The last few weeks the starts have been really good and I think that is one of the biggest improvements I have made towards the last part of the season. The bike is just a rocket ship out of the gate and we saw that today. The start is so impor- tant in conditions like this and I made the most of it." Covington will join fellow Husqvarna racer Zach Osborne and Honda's Cole Seely on Team USA for the Motocross of Nations in two weeks in England. In the MXGP class, Red Bull KTM's Jeffrey Herlings took yet another victory, continuing his hot streak with a 3-1 score for the overall. Honda's 2016 MXGP World Champ Tim Gajser won the opening moto, but his 1-3 was only good enough for second overall. Covington's teammate Max Anstie was third overall with a 4-2 score. Current MXGP World Cham- pion Antonio Cairoli struggled in the opening moto and crashed late, ending up ninth. In moto two, Cairoli started near the front, but pulled off early.
