ILLINOIS STATE FAIRGROUNDS / SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS

held second, but Dan Bromley
(Big Momma & Daddy Deep
Pockets Racing/Bromley Motor-
sports, KTM) put a big move on
both riders going into turn one
and came away with a lead he
would never relinquish.
"I was able to use the line I
found in the semi to pass both
Morgan and Steven in turn one
and was able to take the lead.
After I got the lead, the track
kept changing lap after lap,"
said Bromley. "I could hear that
Morgan was right on my rear tire.
I just knew I had to be consis-
tent and keep a tight line out of
turn two and four. By doing that
I was able to get the win. It really
feels good to be able to win the
AFT SINGLES
A small banked oval was inserted
into the multi-purpose arena at
the Illinois State Fairgrounds and
was the site of round 15 of the
American Flat Track series. With
the 450cc AFT Singles not run-
ning on the mile track, the short
track was added to the schedule
and run on Saturday.
Heats and semis pared the full
field of AFT Singles riders down
to the fastest 18 riders for the 15-
lap main e vent. Steven Sandoval
(R&R Racing/Country Saloon,
Honda) had won the fastest semi
and got the holeshot in the main
and led the first lap. Morgen Mis-
chler (Mischler's Harley-Davidson
& BMW/Steelhorse Law, Honda)
(Above) Dan Bromley (162) only
has five races under his belt this
year but now one of them is a win.
He topped Saturday's short track
main. (Below) Morgen Mischler
(69) landed second place in the
Singles main.
