JUNIOR WORLD TROPHY
The U.S. Junior World Trophy (JWT)
team of veterans Grant Baylor, Layne
Michael and first-time Junior team
member Josh Toth arrived in France
also looking to do big things.
Baylor has shown in the past that
he's both fast and tough; Michael,
of course, was on last year's senior
team; and though it would be Toth's
first time on the elite squad, he's done
well in his two previous Club appear-
ances and been on fire this year in the
GNCCs.
The American crew got off to a
fourth-place start behind defending
champ Sweden, Italy and France,
but the results after day two shocked
them as well as everyone else when
the results showed them at the top of
the list!
However, reality set in the next day
when Toth erred by going into a check
a few seconds early, incurring a one-
minute penalty that dropped the team
to third behind France and Italy. That's
where they stayed the rest of the week
through a series of mostly good per-
formances by all three.
