OFF ROAD
92ND FIM INTERNATIONAL SIX DAYS ENDURO
AUGUST 22-SEPTEMBER 2, 2017
BRIVE-LA-GAILLARDE, FRANCE
P66
Ninth E2 and 23rd overall at the
end of the first day, Russell spent a
few days figuring out the best way to
attack, ending the week riding well
for seventh in class and 14th overall.
As U.S. Team Manager Antti Kal-
lonen summed up, "It's definitely been
a Six Days that I wasn't expecting,
results-wise, with the injury right away.
Other issues that we've had, it's typi-
cal Six Days—it never goes smooth."
But looking at what he and Sipes
were able to do, both finishing in the
top five overall, Robert noted, "That
was a big improvement because I
don't think we've had two Americans
in the top five [before] so that's huge.
It's just something to build on for
next year."
ISDE veteran Grant Baylor started
the week strong, but a few
crashes over the next few days
slowed him a bit and he ended up
13th in class, fifth Junior.
Layne Michael was
the fastest of the
three Junior World
Trophy Americans.
The team was
third overall.
