GAJSER CONFIRMS: HE'S IN
FOR MONSTER ENERGY CUP
H
onda HRC's Tim Gajser, the 2019 MXGP World Champion,
has confirmed that he has officially entered next month's
Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas.
"I am really looking forward to racing in the Monster Energy
Cup this year," the Slovenian said. "I want to go there, have
fun and enjoy it, as racing in a stadium in America is a whole
new experience for me. I have an awesome new limited edition
kit from Fox to debut on the night, which I think everyone will
love. Obviously when I enter a race the goal is to win but this is
completely something new for me as I am entering without any
real expectations of where I will be. I have a track at home that
I can train on, so after
MXGP I will add more
supercross elements
to it to help me prepare
for the race. I want to
come out to America a
week early to practice
on an American super-
cross track." CN

MAKES
RACING
DEBUT IN U.S.
T
he all-new 2018 Honda
CRF250R made its racing
debut in the controls of Italian
Michele Cervellin at the MXGP of
the USA in Jacksonville, Florida,
September 2-3.
After qualifying 14th on Sat-
urday, Cervellin ran as high as
eighth in Sunday's first MX2 moto
before dropping out with a me-
chanical. He finished 12th in the
second moto despite a crash.
"We ran the 2018 CRF250RW
in the MX2 for the first time [in
Florida] and what we are trying
to do is gather information," said
HRC General Manager Roger
Harvey. "The bike is brand new to
us, so we are developing as we
ride. Cervellin has had three days
on the bike and on his own he has
been very good, but it is different
in competition.
"When it came to race one,
Cervellin rode quite well and was
running midpack, but then we
had a small electrical issue on
the bike, which gave him a DNF.
The second race he rode more
solidly, he started to settle into the
bike and then just at the end of
the race, he got cross-rutted and
threw the bike away. Fortunately,
he came away without injury." CN
