GIRROIR TOPS AMA EAST HARE SCRAMBLES

onathan Girroir won round
eight of the SRT-AMA East
Hare Scrambles Championship in
Thomaston, Connecticut, August
20. The NETRA event, hosted by
the Pathfinders M.C., layed out a
challenging 11-mile loop that Gir-
roir navigated better and quicker
than anybody else, including
points leaders Wally Palmer and
Kyle McDonal.
Girroir got out in front early but
had company in the way of Ryder
Lafferty. Girroir and Lafferty
quickly dropped the rest of the
pack as they diced up front. Mc-
Donal's bid for a win ended early
when he caught a rock to his foot
that slowed him down consider-
ably, and Palmer was having a
tough time after getting off to a
midpack start. And it didn't help
either that he was working on just
three hours of sleep after having
competed in the AMA Enduro-
Cross opener in Las Vegas the
night before.
Girroir maintained his lead
throughout the race, despite
constant pressure by Lafferty and
