Podium-bound, however,
were two EG Honda teammates
from the middle of the grid. Aron
Canet had qualified 16th and
Enea Bastianini 17th; and they
finished first and second.
The cost to Mir's points lead
was 14, with Canet up to sec-
ond, but the former is still miles
again, 226 to 162 points, with
Fenati now third at 160; then
Martin (105) and di Giannantonio
(101). CN

9. Alex Rins (Suz)
10. Alvaro Bautista (Duc)
Honda rider (bravely ignoring his
still painful German GP injuries)
was classified third.
It would have been a lottery
anyway.
Romano Fenati (Rivacold
Honda) was on pole for the
first time, ahead of champion-
ship leader Joan Mir (Leopard
Honda), and led the first lap. But
it was a complete brawl, with a
number of others leading over
the line and at various points,
and a simple error able to cost
10 or 15 places. One leader
was Fabio di Giannantonio (Del
Conca Honda), who ran wide,
dropped to 18th, came back to
challenge once more, only to
run wide again.
Others to lead included Gue-
vara and KTM teammate Gabriel
Rodrigo, plus Honda riders Mar-
tin and Livio Loi.
Aron Canet came out on top after a huge battle in Moto3.
