MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 11 / AUGUST 19, 2017 BUDDS CREEK RACEWAY / BUDDS CREEK, MARYLAND P54 Baggett was there and chased him down. Just after Baggett got Bogle, Tomac got him, then set out after Baggett. Still, Bogle hung on for a very respectable third place, about 10 seconds behind Baggett in second, and five seconds in front of Musquin in fourth. The result combined for his first-ever podium finish, and first-ever AMA National overall victory. "It feels incredible!" Bogle said. "I would've liked to go 1-1. I was out there, and I had a good chance, but... I'll take it. This is my first podium over- all on a 450! Shout out to the RCH Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing team. It was hard-fought, and it was hot..." Red Bull KTM's Marvin Mus- quin seemed disappointed at the end of the day with second overall. And that makes sense when you consider he had won six motos in a row coming into Budds Creek. But at Budds, things just didn't work out the way he wanted. In the first moto, he came up just short of Bogle at the finish after an impressive run through the top of the field, including having to pass Blake Baggett multiple times. "It's hard, you know? With all one-lined track. "They did an incredible job with the track, with the conditions we had yesterday with all the rain, but it was pretty one-lined and it made it kind of tough, but shout out to the RCH Yoshimura Suzuki team, an incredible group of guys... I love those guys, man. This feels like my rookie year. I'm learning so much. It's a beautiful thing to get out there and lead some laps. I hope I can get back up here the second moto, hopefully be up on the podium... It'll be awe- some." In the second moto, Bogle had to pass his teammate Matt Bisceglia on the opening lap to take the lead, then tried to run away again, but this time, for 2018, and earlier this year, at Colorado, he made a case for himself in moto one, winning in a runaway, only to spoil it with a re- turn to lackluster performances in the second moto. At Budds Creek, Bogle took the lead from Martin Davalos in the first moto a few laps in, then put his head down. In the final laps he came under fire from Marvin Musquin who, prior to Budds Creek, had won six motos in a row, but he held the Frenchman off, winning his second moto of the year (and his career) by less than a second. "Honestly, the pressure, it was there with lappers, man... Lappers were so tough today," Bogle said, speaking of the Justin Bogle made his first-ever podium finish a good one, taking the top spot with a 1-3 tally.
