last three laps. "Unfortunately
it took like four or five laps to
get in a groove, whether it was
the bike or me. It was the same
thing on the restart," said Smith.
"I thought, 'Alright I can run with
Jared now.' He could just get
going real quickly on the first
two laps and it took me five laps
to get going. He gained like ten
bike lengths ahead of us."
Carver got a great restart and
as big a lead after the restart, no
one got close.
"We had a good roll, a good
pace. It was one of those nights
where I wanted to start out
front," said Mees. "I didn't want
to battle with anybody. I ran my
own race and stayed consistent
and clean. I had a good set-up
motorcycle. I was able to put in
hard laps early. On the restart I
was able to put in hard laps and
get the gap back."
