Fasnacht going 1-1 to edge fellow
Kawasaki rider Hannah Hodges.
The Floridian Hodges also raced
the Women (12+) amateur class
and scored the title with 1-2-2
moto finishes, taking advantage
of a first-moto DNF for North
Carolina's Jordan Jarvis, who
then won the last two motos on
her Yamaha. Jazzmyn Canfield
was second overall with 2-3-3

School, went 5-2-2 for sec-
ond overall in the Junior (+25)
class, while Michigan's John
Grewe was second in the Senior
(+40) division. Grewe also won
the Masters (+50) class over
his longtime adversary Barry
Carsten, of New Jersey, giving
him a career total of six titles at
Loretta Lynn's, which he first
raced in 1982; the year the AMA
Amateur Nationals moved to
Loretta Lynn's Ranch.
For the first time ever, the
WMX program was incorporated
into Loretta Lynn's. The women
racing. Brown, who hails from
Tennessee, decided to return
to the ranch to race the Junior
(+25) and Senior (+40) classes.
He thoroughly dominated both
classes, despite the presence of
fellow former pro riders Nathan
Ramsey, Buddy Antunez, Lance
Smail and more. Brown, argu-
ably faster now than he was
when he first graduated from the
ranch 27 years ago, was never
seriously challenged, and he
joins a long list of former pro rid-
ers to come back and race the
vet classes at the ranch.
