he became the first rider to ever win an
AMA Amateur National Championship on
an Italian-made TM motorcycle. Master-
pool used consistency to claim the Super
Mini 1 (12-15) title, going 2-2-3 to beat out
the three moto winners: Dilan Schwartz,
Carson Mumford and Jarrett Frye.
The Super Mini 2 (13-16) class was a
little more dramatic. Masterpool won the
first two motos and appeared to be ready
to clinch the title when the third moto
started. But an early crash followed by
an endo in the Ten Commandments
whoop section left him scrambling to fin-
ish fifth. The moto and the title appeared
to be in the hands of yet another Bakers-
field rider, Kawasaki Team Green's Stilez
Robertson, but then the leader crashed
late in the moto, handing the overall
back to Masterpool. He celebrated his
good fortune with a big burnout on the
podium stage.
