standings. However, Cairoli
extended his points lead on the
day with his 2-2 showing. He now
leads new runner-up Herlings

Pauls Jonass caught and passed
his Red Bull KTM teammate
Jorge Prado Garcia for the win
in the first moto, with Suzuki's
Jeremy Seewer third. Monster
Energy Yamaha's Benoit Paturel
and KTM's Julien Lieber were
fourth and fifth, respectively.
In the second moto, American
Thomas Covington (Rockstar
Energy Husqvarna) took the hole-
shot, while Jonass found himself
on the ground in turn one. Prado
took the lead and sped away for
the win, while Covington stayed
second until late in the race,
when he went down and ended
the day with a DNF.
Lieber ended up second over
Covington's teammate Thomas
Kjer Olsen, Seewer, and then
Jonass, who caught all the way
up to fifth at the finish.
With five races left, Jonass still
has a commanding lead in the
championship with 50 points in
hand over Seewer. CN
