up as soon as possible."
Osborne now leads the cham-
pionship over GEICO Honda's
Jeremy Martin by 74 points with
only three rounds—six motos—
left to run. If Osborne can man-
age to add 26 points to his lead
at Unadilla, he will clinch the title
there. Otherwise, barring any
major mishaps, he should clinch
the title at the penultimate round
at Budds Creek a week later.
But the man on fire lately
has been Monster Energy/Pro
Circuit Kawasaki's Joey Savatgy.

Then, in moto two, Osborne
didn't get a great start, but he
was inside the top 10, then
worked his way forward until he
took third from Monster Energy/
Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Adam
Cianciarulo with a few laps left.
In the end, the 4-3 score for
Osborne landed him second
overall.
"It feels good to be on the
podium today," Osborne said. "It
was a hard-fought battle. I didn't
have a whole lot there in the sec-
ond moto because I fell down in

and came all the way back to
fourth. It was a good points day

250MX
Zach Osborne has turned the
250MX National Champion-
ship into a yawner. He simply
hasn't had bad races this year.
His worst moto finish all year
has been an eighth—twice—but
besides those two races, he
hasn't finished a moto outside
the top five, including 12 podium
finishes, with seven of those
being wins. To make things
even more dominant, second
in points—TLD/Red Bull KTM's
Alex Martin—was forced out of
the Washougal National with an
injured shoulder.
At Washougal, Osborne faced
some adversity, but, yet again,
he overcame it. In moto one,
Osborne went down in the sec-
ond turn, and then remounted
way back in the pack. Still, he
crossed the finish line 22nd on
lap one, but just kept working,
taking fifth place on lap 12 of 16,
but he wasn't done there. He
chased the leaders down, and
on the last lap, he just nicked
Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha's
Mitchell Harrison in the whoops
before the finish line and stole
fourth place from him.
Joey Savatgy (17)
has found his speed
again and took the
overall victory in the
250MX class with a
7-1 (yes, a 7-1).
