Runner-up Busto, said, "I'm very hap-
py. Today I did better than yesterday. I felt
at ease with the sections despite a small
fault. For the championship this is a great
result. The goal is to try to finish third,
doing well in the remaining two races."
Bou leads the championship with 155
points, followed by Raga with 127 and
Busto with 103.
Surprisingly absent from the event
was nine-time and current U.S. National
Champion Patrick Smage. Even the
riders took note that Smage wasn't at
the event. Bou asked, "Where is Patrick
Smage? He is [the] only American that
can ride at the TrialGP level." Two years
points. James Dabill and Jeroni Fajardo
tied in third with 20 points, and Raga was
close behind with 21 points and still in
the fight for a podium finish.
On the final loop, with the points
so close for the final podium position,
Fajardo had the second-best score, only
one point behind Bou, and good enough
to give him a solid third place for the
day. In the end, it was Bou finishing first,
Busto second and Fajardo third.
"I'm really happy about how the trial
went," Bou said after Sunday's round.
"It seemed that with last night's rain it
would be a bit more delicate, but soon it
got easy. Three points on the first lap are
too few. I am very happy with my riding
in an easy trial, and it's a big step for-
ward in the championship, because this
has been a fantastic weekend. Now we
