Although Tomac lost six points to
Musquin on the day, he gained a dozen
on second-in-the-championship Baggett
and now holds a 32-point lead over
Baggett and 54 points over Musquin
with only six motos left to run. Math-
ematically, this means that Baggett—who
is riding with an injured thumb—would
have to gain over five points per moto,
on average, to take the title from Tomac.
And Musquin is in even worse title
shape: If Musquin wins every moto for
that moto, and then we just lost touch
there. I need to keep the groove going
the whole time."
In the second moto, he never got
close enough to Musquin to get a
chance to run into him, but he ended up
second yet again.
"I lost touch a little bit at the begin-
ning of that one, which is the opposite
of what I wanted to happen, so I don't
