except that in the second moto,
points leader Zach Osborne was
able to chase him down with what
has now become a predictable
late-race charge to take the win.
But Savatgy was happy to let
Osborne go, knowing how much
of an improvement a 1-2 score
for the overall win was as com-
pared to the last four Nationals.

It was more of the same in
moto two, as Savatgy started
near the front, passed TLD/Red

It's been a long time coming for
Joey Savatgy and his Monster
Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki
team. Since winning round three
in Colorado with a 4-1 score,
Savatgy failed to finish inside the
top five in a single moto seven
motos in a row. He ended that
streak with a fifth in the second
moto at Southwick, and with
a weekend off between then
and now, the Pro Circuit team
packed up and headed back
east to test with Savatgy and his
teammate Adam Cianciarulo.
The results were immediately
apparent. Cianciarulo qualified
first at Millville, and Savatgy was
third. In moto one, Savatgy got
the holeshot and just checked
out, eventually winning by about
eight seconds, his best lap time
nearly a full second faster than
anybody else's.
