MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL/AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 8 / JULY 22, 2017 MILLVILLE, MINNESOTA / SPRING CREEK RACEWAY P64 Millville, still recovering from his crash at Southwick—in the points standings and now sits fourth in the championship chase despite starting the year without a ride. And then there's the points leader. Tomac had a rough day at Millville. In the first moto, he started outside the top 10 and had to battle through for second place. "It's easy to miss a rut or blow something out and then you lose your momentum, so right now, the track's really deep, and really soft, by far the softest we've ever seen this place," Tomac said after the first moto. "That time, I had a really good jump off the start, and then got beat down In the second moto, Wilson again started right near the front and only had to make one pass after the opening lap, going by Bogle to grab third. His 3-3 score landed him a career-best second overall. And he credits his hair. "I woke up this morning, and my hair looked really good straight out of bed, so I knew it was going to be a good day," Wilson said. "I actually didn't know I got second overall until the end, but this is what we real- ly work hard for—to be up here— and it's been a long journey." Wilson leap-frogged his team- mate Jason Anderson—who dropped out of the motos at was really nice, but I was just very tight in the beginning and couldn't really hang with Marv. So, I just kind of tried to get into a pace, and I guess Tomac was behind me, and I felt like I was holding him up a little bit, so then he went in front of me, and then he kept making mistakes and I kept passing him back! So that was actually a little bit funny. But it was nice to get the start, and I had a good battle with Barcia, and I'm looking forward to the second moto. It's good to be up here." Blake Baggett rode well despite riding with a heavily bandaged thumb from a previous injury.
