VOL. 54 ISSUE 29 JULY 25, 2017 P55
I
ndian has taken the wraps off the new Scout
Bobber, a new interpretation of the re-
vamped Scout that was released in 2015.
The Bobber is all about minimalistic style,
with touches of drag and flat tracker worked
into a design that sports none of the accesso-
ries that have made Indian an instant force in
the highly competitive Touring segment.
Starting from $11,499 to $12,499, the Bob-
ber packs 100 horsepower and 72 lb-ft of
torque from the 69-cubic-inch V-twin found in
the base model Scout, but it's the chassis and
styling that grabs the attention.
The Scout Bobber's rear suspension is low-
ered one inch, the footpegs mounted 1.5 inch-
es rearward and the tracker-style bars closer
to the rider, giving the Bobber a much more
aggressive riding stance than the base model
Scout. Black is a common color theme with
the Bobber with everything from the exhaust,
frame, handlebars, mirrors, turn signals, cast
aluminum wheels, primary and clutch covers
all blacked-out.
The Bobber rolls on 16-inch "knobby" tires
and there's a large range of accessories to
go with it, including a Stage 1 exhaust sys-
tem, performance intake, solo rack pack and
saddlebag, and a passenger seat with a small
built-in sissy bar.
