onsidering that Davies (Aruba.it Racing
Ducati) broke his back in the previous
round, and has a championship chance of
probably zero now, it was a surprise to see him
not just fastest on Friday but winning on Saturday,
even if Laguna is a good track for him in a histori-
cal sense.
With the lateral part of one vertebrae still flap-
ping loose inside him, he was pleasantly surprised
to find it not that much of a distraction on the bike
and he simply launched himself at the Laguna
circuit in race one.
