LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS
ROUND 6 / JULY 1, 2017

At the halfway point of the sea-
son, it seems that championship
leader Zach Osborne is just hit-
ting his stride.
Osborne was the fastest quali-
fier, but in moto one it was Geico
Honda's Jeremy Martin ("J-Mart")
with the holeshot over Monster
Energy Kawasaki's Austin For-
kner, and then Osborne, TLD/
Red Bull KTM's Alex Martin ("A-
Mart"), RJ Hampshire, and then
a trio of Yamalube/Star Racing
Yamaha riders in Dylan Ferrandis,
last week's winner Aaron Pless-

secure his third moto win of the
season.

Osborne said of losing sight of
J-Mart late in the race.
The early-race lead for J-Mart
was the key to the win.
"I could hear him coming.
I'm like, 'Man, if I don't do this
he could possibly get me.' So
I knew that if I did that, maybe
it gave me a bike length or two
and get away from him. It was a
great ride. We hit a lot of lappers
and we were all kind of yo-yoing
each other. Where we started is
where we finished. I was happy
to get in front of Big Al and Zach
and get the win."
Osborne hung on for second
with room to spare over A-Mart.
Forkner hung on for a distant
