with Sammy Halbert (Estenson
Racing Yamaha), Wiles, Carver,
classic "hay bale" line and by lap
four he was in command. Indian
Motorcycle/Allstate Insurance's
Brad Baker, who is normally
clipping the strings on the bales,
was taking a little more conser-
vative line, moving into second
on lap five.
"I wasn't comfortable up top.
My bike wouldn't handle through
that deep stuff," said Baker. "I
could get like maybe five laps
and it would beat me up. If you
