MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL/AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 5 / JUNE 24, 2017 BLOUNTVILLE, TENNESSEE / MUDDY CREEK RACEWAY P62 my line, and that was my race from the beginning. I just started clicking laps off like it was prac- tice!" Points leader Osborne had a bit of an off-moto but still took his Rockstar Energy Husqvarna to fifth place at a track where he's raced since he was a little kid. Just behind Osborne came another local, A-Mart's team- mate Shane McElrath, and then came his Sean Cantrell, then Colt Nichols, Ferrandis and Mitchell Harrison. Behind Harrison were Savat- gy, Luke Renzland and Jeremy Martin, who was in a battle with Ferrandis and Savatgy for most of the race distance until an unforced error caused him to fall late in the race. In moto two, Plessinger grabbed the holeshot again, this time in front of Forkner, Osborne, Cantrell and Nichols. Early on lap two, Cantrell went down hard when he scrubbed a jump too far and was ejected from his TLD KTM. He did not continue with the race. While Plessinger led out front, Osborne began applying pres- sure until Plessinger made an error on lap six, giving Osborne the opening he needed to move into the lead. From there, Osborne was gone, but Plessinger hung on to finish all by himself in sec- ond, while Forkner again barely held off A-Mart for third. Behind them came Cianciarulo, Jeremy Martin, Savatgy, Nichols, rookie Chase Sexton, Harrison, McEl- rath, Hampshire, Justin Hill, Renzland and Ferrandis. "I'm feeling great," Plessinger said of his first overall win since 2015. "I just got out to a great start, I don't know what it is! But I got out front, and then Zach got me, and he was riding really, really good, so I just hung on for second." Now the series moves to RedBud in Buchanan, Michigan, for the halfway point of the se- ries with Osborne leading by 31 points over Alex Martin, with Jer- emy Martin another five points behind, Plessinger another six points behind him, and then Forkner another six points back in fifth. CN Zach Osborne didn't get the win but he did extend his 250MX points lead.
