COOPER CLAIMS MAMMOTH

ith the snow-covered resort
of Mammoth Mountain as
the backdrop, the 50th annual
Mammoth Motocross went off
without a hitch, June 16-25,
providing excellent racing over
the course of the 10-day event.
The rider that stole the show dur-
ing the main weekend of racing,
though, was young Yamaha-
supported Justin Cooper of Cold
Spring Harbor, New York.
In his first-ever trip to the
mountain, Cooper was fast
during all three pro-class days,
posting blisteringly fast, and con-
sistent, lap times on his way to
sweeping the competitive Open
Pro-Sport, 450 Pro, and 250 Pro
New York's
Justin Cooper
dominated
the pro-class
racing at the
Mammoth
Motocross.
