and it wasn't really a situation where I
needed to hang it out there and twist
it to go get him," Baggett said. "He
can have that one. It's three points,
and the season's long."
Even more remarkable than
grabbing his second win in a row,
Baggett came into High Point 19
points behind Musquin in the cham-
pionship, and two points behind
Tomac, but left High Point the new
450MX National points leader,
leading Musquin by eight points as
the series heads to Muddy Creek
Raceway in Blountville, Tennes-
see. Tomac is currently third in the
championship, three points behind
Musquin.
There's a lot of racing left, but
Baggett seems undaunted.
his pace, he couldn't reel in the Ka-
wasaki rider. After an initial burst to
try and chase Tomac down, Baggett
slowed his pace for the final third of
the race to cruise in for second.
Tomac ended up taking the win by
over 20 seconds ahead of Baggett,
then came Anderson another 25
seconds back, then Tickle, Webb,
Musquin, Wilson, Seely, Bogle and
Davalos. Grant ended up 11th after
crashing out of seventh with just a
few laps to go attempting to pass
Musquin back for position.
Baggett ended up with his second
overall victory in a row with his 1-2
score.
"Championships are all about
being solid and having good motos
every time, so I knew where Eli was,
Broc Tickle
continues to
show good speed
and consistency.
His reward?
A spot on the
450MX podium.
