FASNACHT CLINCHES WMX TITLE
K
ylie Fasnacht once again
proved that her talents on a
motocross track are second to
none in the 2017 Onsia Sound
Art Women's Motocross Cham-
pionship by going 1-1 in the
penultimate round of the series,
which was held in conjunction
with the 2017 Lucas Oil AMA
Pro Motocross Championship at
High Point Raceway in Mt. Mor-
ris, Pennsylvania, June 17.
Originally scheduled as
the opening act on Friday for
Saturday's Pro National, Mother
Nature instead dumped enough
rain on Thursday night to make
the track unrideable on Friday,
canceling a series of planned
races that day. The WMX race
was rescheduled for Saturday,
which gave them a chance to
race in front of the large Pro
Motocross crowd.
Fasnacht got things started
with the Lucas Oil Holeshot in
the first moto and that was all
she needed to get the job done.
She stretched out her lead with
every lap to take the win.
However, there was good,
back-and-forth racing going
on behind her. Canada's Eve
Brodeur and Shelby Rolen
were battling for second when
Brodeur went off the track and
collected a stream of banners,
prematurely ending her race.
Rolen slipped into second and
would finish there.
