IN THE WIND P46 jumped the start again. The Aus- sie international admits he was pretty eager to gain an advantage from the tough outside gate. Winning in Prague has brought good fortune for many riders—eight of the last 13 win- ners went on to become world champion in the same season. But Doyle has little time for that statistic after triumphing last year, only for his campaign to be ended by a horrific crash at the penultimate SGP in Torun. He said: "Last year I won Prague and ended up in a hos- pital for nearly six weeks. It's all statistics and it means nothing to me." Runner-up Hancock was elated to regain top form with a whopping 18 points out of a pos- sible 21 as he made his first final of 2017 to climb up to seventh in the standings. "It was a good night," he said. "It's a turning point and we're back in business. Game on! It's so great to be back in it. I have speed, I feel good and it's nice when all the hard work starts to pay off again." John Hipkiss Mitas Czech SGP Results 1. Jason Doyle 2. Greg Hancock 3. Vaclav Milik 4. Patryk Dudek 5. Biaggi was airlifted to the San Camillo Hospital with initial re- ports indicating life-threatening injuries, however, the severity of his injuries were later down- graded. "The condition of Max Biaggi is stationary," said emergency assistant director Emanuele Guglielmelli. "The rider was admitted for the prognosis of thoracic trauma with multiple bruises. After the findings in the emergency room, when the helicopter arrived from Latina at around 2 p.m., he is currently being admitted to Intensive Ther- apy for clinical observation and monitoring as expected following major traumas." On Saturday, June 10, the hospital released the follow- ing statement. "Radiological examina- tions performed during the morning showed an increase in the right pneumothorax, which led to the position- ing of chest drainage. The surgery was performed with the perfect outcome, whilst the vital parameters remain satisfactory. Multi-parameter and radiological monitoring as well as non-inva- sive respiratory support proce- dures continue. Vital parameters are satisfactory, multi-parameter monitoring and non-invasive supportive respiratory support procedures continue." Biaggi's accident happened at the same track that claimed the life of Doriano Romboni, one of Biaggi's chief protagonists in his 250GP race days of the 1990s. Romboni was killed in a supermoto charity event held in Marco Simoncelli's honor in 2014. CN Max Biaggi suffered serious injuries in a supermoto crash.
