Whispering Pines Raceway hosted the first round in what ended up being hot and dusty conditions. Californian Dillan Epstein (Kawasaki) came out swinging in the first moto and took the win over Tyler Medaglia (Honda), Pourcel, Matt Goerke (Yamaha), Colton Facciotti (Honda) and Kaven Benoit (KTM). Epstein started the moto off in seventh but slowly worked his way to the front and took lead when Benoit went down. Epstein took the win five seconds ahead of Medaglia. Pourcel got the early lead in moto two and stayed there till the end, except for a couple of laps while battling with Georke, who ended up third after getting passed by Facciotti late in the race. First-moto winner Epstein ended up fifth after completing the first lap in 18th. Pourcel earned the overall with a 3-1, and Epstein was second overall with a 1-5. Medaglia was third overall via 2-4 moto finishes.
