IN THE WIND P42 EDIE WINS ROUND TWO OF CANADIAN SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP B odhi Edie (Yamaha) broke legendary Canadian Champion Jordan Szoke's run of undefeated races at 15 in the Canadian Pro Superbike Championship, with victory at round two of the series at Grand Bend, Ontario, June 10-11. Szoke (BMW), winner at round one of the 2017 Champi- onship at Shannonville Mo- torsport Park in March, took an early lead in the 20-lap Superbike feature event and looked set for another win, but he couldn't break clear of Edie and BMW rider Ben Young with the race distilling into a dog- fight between these three. It would all go pear-shaped for Young, however, when he high-sided in turn three, caus- ing the red flag to come out and the race to be declared. Second went to Szoke with Kenny Riedmann (Kawasaki) in third. "Right off the start I didn't quite have the pace, but I just stayed calm, stayed patient," said the 2011 Brooklin Cycle Racing Pro Rookie of the Year, Edie. "Ben was putting in a really hot race, and he kind of helped me get my pace up and get my comfort there. Jordan got into a bit of trouble and we were able to catch up with him, and right away we made a few passes stick, and kept the pace going." CN Twenty-one-year- old Bodhi Edie finally capped Jordan Szoke's undefeated-run at 15 in the Canadian Superbike Championship.
