MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL/AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 3 / JUNE 3, 2017 LAKEWOOD, COLORADO / THUNDER VALLEY RACEWAY P68 so as to avoid being hit. Flaggers did noth- ing to warn other racers there was a bike there, and quite a few racers bounced off of his downed YZ250F, including Savatgy on his way by for the lead. Savatgy had pressure from Plessinger's teammate Ferrandis for a while until Jer- emy Martin forced his way by for second, and then Savatgy had to deal with Martin all the way to the finish, which he did. Sa- vatgy took his first moto win of the season. "I've got to be honest with you, it's been a rough couple weeks," Savatgy said. "Obviously, Supercross didn't end the way I wanted it to, and I'd love to have a replay button, but that's life, and we don't have that. Jeremy [Martin] rode well. We've had so many ups and downs this year, and so many little mistakes, and I was glad to take that all the way to the end." Jeremy Martin hung on for a close second place in the moto, and third overall. in. I found a couple better lines about halfway, and I really didn't get that tired, and I really didn't go slower toward the end, so I was able to go the same speed the whole time and I started reeling some guys in. It was kind of hard to make passes, and you really had to force it, but the track was super good and I'm ready for the second moto." Jeremy Martin knew he had some work to do for moto two. "In the middle of the turns, there are some really soft spots, and then your front just drops and you get caught off-guard," Jeremy Martin said. "Alex and I got off to a good start—we were 1 and 2—and it took me a little bit to get going and get the flow. I was able to get it, and Savatgy got in there, and we just had a battle. It was really just down to who had better lines, you know? And Forkner came in there, and I was like, 'Dang it!' He had some good moves and made some good passes, and I learned from him and was able to get Savatgy back." Three of the top-five finishers in moto one were Pro Circuit Kawasakis. Behind Cianciarulo came Nich- ols, Plessinger (who had a late fall), Osborne, and Ferrandis. Savatgy snatched the holeshot to start moto two, but about a quarter of a lap into the race, Plessinger slipped by to take the lead. Behind them came Harrison, Ferrandis, Jeremy Martin, Forkner, Alex Martin, Osborne, Cianciarulo and Cycle Trader/Rock River Yamaha's Brad- ley Taft. Savatgy stayed on Plessinger for the first few laps before Plessinger tossed it away on a blind side of a rut- ted jump and then bailed off the track (Above) Jeremy Martin joined his brother Alex, and Savatgy, on the 250MX podium. (Left) Alex Martin won the first 250MX moto and finished out the day second overall.
